WiFi Not Connecting / Network Error
Panasonic Smart TV
Severity:What Does This Error Mean?
Panasonic Smart TV WiFi not connecting is most often caused by incorrect WiFi credentials, the router being out of range, or a software glitch. Restart both the TV and the router first — this fixes the majority of Panasonic Smart TV WiFi connection failures.
Affected Models
- Panasonic TX series (LED/LCD)
- Panasonic OLED TV (LZ/MZ/LX series)
- Panasonic Smart TV (My Home Screen)
Common Causes
- Router restarted since last connection — TV needs updated WiFi credentials
- TV too far from the router — weak 5 GHz signal does not penetrate walls well
- Incorrect WiFi password entered
- Software glitch in the Panasonic network stack
- IP address or DNS conflict on the home network
How to Fix It
-
Restart the TV and the router.
Unplug the Panasonic TV from the wall for 60 seconds and restart the WiFi router by unplugging it for 30 seconds. Wait for the router to fully reconnect to the internet before powering the TV back on. Then go to Settings → Network → Network Connection → Wireless and attempt to reconnect.
-
Forget and re-enter the WiFi credentials.
Go to Settings → Network → Network Connection on the Panasonic TV. Select the saved network and choose Delete or Forget. Search for the network again and re-enter the WiFi password carefully — the password is case-sensitive.
-
Try the 2.4 GHz band instead of 5 GHz.
Many Panasonic Smart TVs connect more reliably on the 2.4 GHz WiFi band — especially if the TV is more than one room away from the router. If the router broadcasts separate 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks, connect the TV to the 2.4 GHz network. The 2.4 GHz band is slower but penetrates walls significantly better.
-
Set a manual DNS address.
Go to Settings → Network → Network Status on the Panasonic TV and check the assigned IP and DNS addresses. If DNS-related connection failures are suspected, go to the network settings and change to a manual IP configuration. Set DNS to 8.8.8.8 (Google) or 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare) to bypass any ISP DNS issues.
-
Perform a network reset or factory reset.
Go to Settings → System → Reset → Reset Network Settings on the Panasonic TV. This clears all saved WiFi settings without affecting app data. If a network reset does not resolve the issue, a full factory reset (Menu → Setup → System Menu → Factory Default) wipes all settings and often resolves deep software issues.
When to Call a Professional
If the Panasonic TV sees the network but fails to connect even after a factory reset and confirmed correct password, the TV's WiFi module may have failed. Contact Panasonic support.
