What Does This Error Mean?

Your Apple Watch is not receiving power from the charger. This is usually caused by a dirty charging pad, a loose connection, a faulty cable, or a power adapter that cannot deliver enough current. This is almost always a hardware or accessories issue, not a fault with the watch itself.

How to Fix It

Clean the back of the Apple Watch and the charging puck with a dry cloth.

Sweat and skin oils break the electrical connection between the magnetic charger and the watch. Even a thin layer of grime can stop charging.
Re-seat the charger — remove it and place it back firmly onto the back of the watch.

The MagSafe charger attaches magnetically. If it is slightly off-centre, it may not charge. You should see the charging icon appear within a few seconds.
Try a different USB power adapter or plug into a different wall socket.

Some USB chargers cannot deliver the 5W minimum needed for Apple Watch. Use Apple's own 5W adapter or any USB-C power adapter rated at 5W or more.
