Error 14

Disney+ Streaming Service

Severity: Minor

What Does This Error Mean?

Error 14 means the content you are trying to watch is blocked by parental controls. The content rating is above the limit set for your profile. An adult account holder can adjust the content rating settings to allow access.

Affected Models

  • All devices running Disney+
  • Samsung Smart TV
  • Apple TV
  • Amazon Fire Stick
  • Roku
  • Web browser

Common Causes

  • Profile content rating is set too low for this title
  • Viewing the content on a Kids profile
  • Account holder restricted the profile
  • Content is rated above the parental control limit
  • Profile PIN protection is enabled

How to Fix It

  1. Log in to Disney+ with the main account holder's credentials.

Parental controls can only be changed by the account owner, not from a restricted profile.

  2. Go to your profile icon and select Edit Profiles.

Find the profile that is getting Error 14 and select it to edit.

  3. Locate the Content Rating setting for that profile.

    Disney+ lets you set a maximum rating: TV-Y, TV-PG, TV-14, TV-MA, or All.

  4. Raise the content rating to allow the title you want to watch.

Select All if you want no restrictions. Set TV-14 or TV-MA for older teen and adult content.

  5. Save the changes and try playing the video again.

Changes take effect immediately. You may need to restart the app on some devices.

When to Call a Professional

Error 14 does not require professional help. It is a parental controls setting that any account holder can change. If you have forgotten your Disney+ account password, use the password reset option on the login page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I bypass Error 14 on a Kids profile?

Kids profiles on Disney+ are permanently restricted to age-appropriate content. You cannot unlock adult content on a Kids profile — you need to switch to a standard profile. Ask the account holder to either change your profile type or create a new standard profile for you.

Why is Error 14 appearing on content I have watched before?

The account holder may have recently changed the parental control settings on your profile. Check with whoever manages the Disney+ account to see if settings were updated. They can restore your previous content rating in the profile settings.

My profile is not a Kids profile but I still see Error 14.

Check the Content Rating setting on your specific profile — it may have been manually restricted. Go to Edit Profiles, select your profile, and check the Content Rating field. Set it to All to remove all restrictions.
