RH-01

Google Google Services

Severity: Moderate

What Does This Error Mean?

Google Play Error RH-01 means there is a problem with your Google account authentication on your device. The Play Store cannot verify your account credentials, so it cannot complete purchases or downloads. This often happens after a password change, after adding a new account, or when your device's account data gets out of sync with Google's servers.

Affected Models

  • Android phones and tablets
  • Samsung Galaxy
  • Google Pixel
  • OnePlus
  • Any Android device with Google Play

Common Causes

  • Your Google account password was recently changed but the device was not updated
  • Your Google account session token has expired and needs to be refreshed
  • You have multiple Google accounts on the device and there is a conflict
  • The Google Play Store or Google Play Services data is corrupted
  • A temporary issue with Google's authentication servers

How to Fix It

  1. Remove your Google account from the device. Go to Settings > Accounts > Google > your email > Remove account.

Then restart your phone and add the account again. This forces a completely fresh authentication.

  2. Clear the Google Play Store cache and data. Go to Settings > Apps > Google Play Store > Storage > Clear Cache then Clear Data.

Corrupted sign-in data stored in Play Store is a common cause of RH-01.

  3. Clear Google Play Services data. Go to Settings > Apps > Google Play Services > Storage > Clear Cache.

Play Services manages account authentication across all Google apps.

  4. Check if you recently changed your Google account password. If yes, go to Settings > Accounts > Google and sign in with your new password.

Your phone does not always automatically pick up a password change. You need to update it manually.

  5. Restart your device and check for any pending Android system updates. Install them if available.

Sometimes RH-01 is triggered by a known bug that was fixed in a system update.

When to Call a Professional

RH-01 does not require professional help. All fixes can be done in your phone's Settings app. If you cannot get into your Google account at all, visit accounts.google.com on a computer to recover access.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will removing my Google account delete anything on my phone?

Removing a Google account from your phone does not delete your Google data. Your Gmail, Drive files, and photos remain safe on Google's servers. However, some apps linked to that account may lose their data or sign you out. Back up important app data before removing the account.

I have two Google accounts on my phone. Could that cause RH-01?

Yes, multiple accounts can sometimes conflict. Try removing both accounts, restarting, and adding back only the primary account first. If the error clears, add the second account back and test again.

Does this error affect purchases I have already made on Google Play?

No. Purchases and app licenses are tied to your Google account on Google's servers, not your device. Once the authentication issue is resolved, all your purchased apps will be available again.
