Meeting Not Found
Zoom Zoom
Severity: MinorWhat Does This Error Mean?
Zoom's 'Meeting not found' error means the meeting ID you entered does not match any active meeting. This usually happens when the meeting has ended, the ID was mistyped, or you are using an old invitation. It is not a technical fault — it is a scheduling or ID mismatch.
Affected Models
- Zoom on Windows
- Zoom on Mac
- Zoom on Android
- Zoom on iPhone
- Zoom Web Browser
Common Causes
- The meeting has already ended or has not started yet
- You typed the Meeting ID incorrectly — even one wrong digit gives this error
- The host cancelled or rescheduled the meeting after the invite was sent
- You are using an old invite link for a meeting that has expired
- The host's account has been deactivated or downgraded
How to Fix It
-
Double-check the Meeting ID. It is usually a 9, 10, or 11-digit number. Type it again very carefully.
Even one wrong digit will result in 'Meeting not found'. Check for 8s vs 6s, 1s vs 7s, etc.
-
Confirm the meeting time and time zone with the host. You may be trying to join at the wrong time.
Meetings are often scheduled in the host's time zone. If you are in a different zone, calculate the difference.
-
Ask the host to send a fresh invitation link directly. Do not use forwarded or old email invites.
The host can click 'Copy invitation' in their Zoom app and send you a clean, current link.
-
Try clicking the meeting link directly instead of manually typing the Meeting ID.
Clicking the link avoids any chance of a typing error.
-
Check if the meeting is a recurring meeting. Recurring meetings have a different ID each session unless Personal Meeting ID is used.
Ask the host which ID type they used — a unique ID or their Personal Meeting Room ID.
When to Call a Professional
This is not a technical issue. If you consistently cannot find meetings, ask the host to verify the meeting details. There is nothing a technician can fix — the meeting either exists or it does not.
Frequently Asked Questions
I clicked the link in my email and still got Meeting Not Found. Why?
The host may have cancelled or rescheduled the meeting after the invite was sent. Contact the host to confirm the meeting is still happening and get the updated details.
Can a Meeting ID expire?
Yes. One-time meeting IDs expire after 30 days if unused. Instant meeting IDs expire after the meeting ends. Only Personal Meeting Room IDs are permanent (until the host changes them).
I am the host and even I get Meeting Not Found when I try to start my own meeting. Why?
This can happen if your Zoom account subscription lapsed. Check your account at zoom.us — if your plan has expired, recurring meetings may have been removed. Renewing your plan should restore access to your scheduled meetings.
