H11
Panasonic Air Conditioner
Severity: CriticalWhat Does This Error Mean?
Panasonic AC H11 error means the outdoor unit is not communicating correctly with the indoor unit. Power off the entire system at the breaker for 5 minutes and restart — this clears H11 in the majority of cases.
Affected Models
- Panasonic Split System AC
- Panasonic Inverter AC
- Panasonic Etherea AC
- Panasonic NanoeX AC
- Panasonic Multi-Split AC
Common Causes
- Transient power interruption disrupting the communication signal
- Loose or damaged communication wire between indoor and outdoor units
- Outdoor unit PCB (control board) fault
- Indoor unit PCB fault
- Incorrect wiring at installation — reversed polarity on communication terminals
How to Fix It
-
Power off at the breaker for 5 minutes.
Locate the dedicated circuit breaker for the air conditioner. Switch it off and wait a full 5 minutes — this allows all capacitors to discharge and both PCBs to reset. Restore power and try operating the unit.
-
Verify both units are powered.
Check that the outdoor unit has power — its LED or display should illuminate. If the indoor unit shows H11 while the outdoor unit appears completely unpowered, the outdoor unit has lost power supply rather than a communication fault.
-
Inspect the communication wiring (qualified technician).
The communication cable between indoor and outdoor units runs inside the line set conduit. Check that the terminals at both units are tight and the wire is not visibly damaged. H11 caused by installation wiring faults requires an HVAC technician to correct.
When to Call a Professional
If H11 persists after a full power cycle and the communication wiring is physically intact, the PCB in the outdoor or indoor unit has failed. A Panasonic-authorised technician is needed to diagnose and replace the faulty board.
