H27

Panasonic Air Conditioner

Severity: Critical

What Does This Error Mean?

Panasonic AC H27 error means the outdoor unit fan motor has stopped or is not rotating at the correct speed. Check for obstructions around the outdoor unit fan, then power cycle the system. Persistent H27 requires a technician.

Affected Models

  • Panasonic Split System AC
  • Panasonic Inverter AC
  • Panasonic Etherea AC
  • Panasonic NanoeX AC

Common Causes

  • Debris (leaves, plastic, insects) obstructing the outdoor fan blades
  • Outdoor fan motor bearing seized or worn
  • Fan motor run capacitor failed
  • Outdoor PCB fault preventing correct fan speed signal
  • Fan blade damaged or cracked causing imbalance

How to Fix It

  1. Check the outdoor unit for obstructions.

Switch off the system at the breaker. Visually inspect the outdoor unit fan through the grille. Remove any leaves, plastic bags, or debris that could be preventing the fan from turning. Do not insert fingers or tools through the grille with power on.

  2. Power cycle the system.

After confirming the fan is clear of obstructions, switch off the breaker for 5 minutes. Restore power and start the unit. If the fan obstructor was temporary, H27 will clear.

  3. Listen to the outdoor fan.

When the AC starts, the outdoor fan should spin up within 30 seconds. A humming sound without rotation suggests the run capacitor has failed. No sound at all from the fan suggests the motor or PCB has failed.

When to Call a Professional

If clearing the outdoor unit of obstructions and performing a power cycle does not clear H27, the fan motor, capacitor, or PCB needs professional replacement.
