App Not Connecting

Cosori Air Fryer

Severity: Minor

What Does This Error Mean?

The Cosori app (VeSync) requires a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network — it does not work on 5 GHz only networks. Check your router settings and confirm you are connecting to the 2.4 GHz band. If the air fryer is already in VeSync, remove it and re-add it from the app.

Affected Models

  • Cosori Smart WiFi Air Fryer
  • Cosori Pro II 5.8 Qt Wi-Fi model
  • Cosori Pro Gen 2 Wi-Fi model
  • All VeSync-compatible Cosori models

Common Causes

  • Phone on 5 GHz Wi-Fi band — air fryer requires 2.4 GHz
  • VeSync app needs updating
  • Air fryer not in pairing mode
  • Router firewall blocking local device discovery
  • VeSync account session expired

How to Fix It

  1. Confirm your phone is on the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi band during setup.

Cosori smart air fryers only support 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Temporarily connect your phone to the 2.4 GHz network before opening VeSync and adding the device.

  2. Update the VeSync app.

Open the App Store or Google Play → search for VeSync → install any update. Outdated VeSync versions have known pairing failures.

  3. Put the air fryer into pairing mode.

Hold the Wi-Fi icon button on the air fryer for 3 seconds until the Wi-Fi indicator flashes. Then open VeSync → Add Device → follow the on-screen steps.

  4. Remove the air fryer from VeSync and re-add it.

In VeSync, tap the device → Settings (gear icon) → Remove Device. Then add it again from scratch with the phone on 2.4 GHz.

  5. Check your router's band steering or AP isolation settings.

Some routers have band steering (forces 5 GHz) or AP isolation (blocks device-to-device communication). Temporarily disable these features during setup if the app cannot find the air fryer.

When to Call a Professional

If the air fryer connects to VeSync but immediately goes offline, the Wi-Fi module inside the unit may be faulty. Contact Cosori support.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Cosori air fryer work without the app?

Yes. The VeSync app adds remote control and scheduling, but all cooking functions work normally via the buttons on the air fryer itself. The app is optional.

Why does my Cosori keep disconnecting from the VeSync app?

Frequent disconnections are usually caused by a weak Wi-Fi signal. Move the air fryer closer to the router and assign it a reserved IP address in your router settings to stabilize the connection.
