Error E3 / Temperature Sensor Fault

Cosori Air Fryer

Severity:

What Does This Error Mean?

Cosori Error E3 means the internal temperature sensor has detected an out-of-range reading — usually from overheating. Unplug the unit, allow it to cool for 30 minutes in a well-ventilated area, then plug in and restart.

Affected Models

  • Cosori Pro II 5.8 Qt
  • Cosori Pro Gen 2 5 Qt
  • Cosori Dual Blaze 6.8 Qt
  • Cosori Lite 4 Qt
  • All Cosori air fryer models

Common Causes

  • Internal temperature too high from blocked airflow — unit placed too close to a wall or in a cabinet
  • Grease or food residue blocking the air intake or exhaust vents
  • Temperature sensor physically damaged from repeated overheating events
  • Unit used immediately after storage in a cold environment, causing internal condensation
  • Defective temperature sensor that reads incorrectly from the moment of power-on

How to Fix It

  1. Unplug and let the unit cool for 30 minutes.

E3 triggers when internal temperature exceeds the sensor's safe range. Unplug the unit completely and place it on an open surface in a cool, ventilated room. Wait at least 30 minutes before attempting to restart.

  2. Ensure at least 5 inches of clearance on all sides.

Cosori air fryers require adequate space to exhaust hot air. Ensure at least 5 inches (13 cm) of clearance behind, above, and on the sides of the unit. Placing the fryer in a cabinet or tight corner traps heat and causes repeated E3 errors.

  3. Clean the air intake and exhaust vents.

Food particles and grease can partially block the intake vents on the underside and rear of the unit. Unplug the Cosori, let it cool fully, and wipe the vents with a damp cloth. Blocked vents restrict airflow and cause internal temperature to spike quickly.

  4. Test with an empty basket.

After the unit has cooled and vents are clear, plug it in and run a 5-minute test at 350°F with an empty basket. If E3 does not appear during this test, the previous error was caused by heat accumulation from blocked airflow. If E3 appears on an empty, cold unit, the sensor is faulty.

  5. Contact Cosori support.

If E3 appears consistently despite adequate clearance and clean vents, the NTC temperature sensor has likely failed. Contact Cosori support at support.cosori.com with your model number and purchase proof. Most Cosori models are covered by a 1-year warranty that includes sensor failures.

When to Call a Professional

If E3 appears immediately when the unit is cold and freshly plugged in (not after any heating), the temperature sensor is faulty. Contact Cosori support for warranty replacement.
