Filter Reset

Coway Air Purifier

Severity: Minor

What Does This Error Mean?

After replacing the Coway filter, press and hold the Filter Reset button for 3 seconds until the filter indicator turns off. On Coway Airmega models, the reset is done in the Coway IoCare app: go to your device, select Filter Management, and reset the filter life counter. The indicator will not clear on its own — the reset must be performed manually.

Affected Models

  • Coway AP-1512HH (Mighty)
  • Coway AP-1512HHS (Mighty Smart)
  • Coway Airmega 200M
  • Coway Airmega 300 / 400
  • Coway Airmega ProX

Common Causes

  • Filter replaced but reset button not held — indicator does not self-clear
  • Reset button released too early — must hold for the full 3 seconds
  • App reset required on smart models — physical button reset may not work without app confirmation

How to Fix It

  1. With the purifier powered on, locate and press the Filter Reset button on the control panel. Hold it for 3 seconds until the indicator light turns off.

On the Coway Mighty (AP-1512HH), the reset button is on the top panel and labeled with a filter icon. The green check light will flash briefly to confirm the reset.

  2. For Coway Airmega smart models, open the Coway IoCare app. Navigate to your device, tap Filter Status, and select Reset to clear the filter life counter.

Airmega connected models track filter life in the cloud. The app reset is the primary method and is more reliable than the physical button on these models.

  3. If the indicator does not clear, power the unit off and on, then repeat the reset. The machine must be fully powered on and not in standby mode for the reset to register.

Ensure no other button is held simultaneously — pressing the wrong combination can put the machine into a different mode.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should Coway filters be replaced?

Coway recommends replacing the HEPA filter every 12 months and the pre-filter every 3 months (the pre-filter can be vacuumed monthly to extend its life). The deodorisation filter should be replaced every 6 months or when odours are no longer effectively removed.
