Beeping

Honeywell Air Purifier

Severity:

What Does This Error Mean?

A Honeywell air purifier that beeps is almost always signaling that a filter needs replacing or resetting. Check the filter indicator lights on the control panel — the lit indicator shows which filter (HEPA or pre-filter) triggered the beep. Replace or clean the indicated filter and press and hold its reset button for 2–3 seconds to stop the beeping.

Affected Models

  • HPA100
  • HPA200
  • HPA300
  • HPA600

Common Causes

  • HEPA filter replacement indicator has been triggered
  • Pre-filter cleaning reminder is active
  • Front grille was opened and not fully re-latched

How to Fix It

  1. Look at the control panel indicator lights. A lit Filter or Check Filter light points to which filter needs attention.

HPA300 and HPA200 models have separate buttons and lights for the HEPA filter and the pre-filter. Address the one that is lit.

  2. Replace the HEPA filter or rinse and dry the pre-filter as needed. Reinstall the filter and close the grille firmly.

The beeping will usually continue until both the filter is replaced AND the reset button is pressed.

  3. Press and hold the Filter Reset button (or Check Filter button) for 2–3 seconds. The beeping should stop and the indicator light should turn off.

If you have two filter indicators lit, reset them one at a time — hold each reset button separately.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Honeywell purifier beeps once when I turn it on and then stops — is something wrong?

A single beep at startup is normal on many HPA models — it confirms the unit has powered on successfully. Only persistent or repeated beeping during normal operation indicates a filter or grille alert.
