E1
IQAir Air Purifier
Severity:What Does This Error Mean?
The E1 error on an IQAir HealthPro indicates a fan motor or motor control fault — the unit has detected that the fan is not reaching its expected speed. Power cycle the unit first. If E1 returns, check that all filters are correctly installed and the access panel is closed. Persistent E1 errors require service — contact IQAir support.
Affected Models
- IQAir HealthPro Plus
- IQAir HealthPro Compact
- IQAir HealthPro 250
Common Causes
- Fan motor is unable to reach target speed — bearing wear or motor failure
- Filter stage is very severely clogged, overloading the fan motor
- Access panel not properly secured, causing air bypass that the sensor interprets as low airflow
- Transient fault after a power surge or interruption
How to Fix It
-
Power off the unit using the power button. Unplug it from the wall. Wait 60 seconds, then plug it back in and power on.
A transient power fault (from a brief power interruption or surge) can trigger E1 and clears with a full power cycle.
-
If E1 returns after power cycling, open the bottom access panel and check that all three filter stages are correctly seated with no gaps or displaced filter media.
A severely displaced filter can create an airflow restriction severe enough to stall the fan.
-
Check the Filter Life display. If any stage is at 0% and has been for some time, a heavily clogged filter may be contributing to the motor overload. Replace the overdue stage.
-
If E1 persists after all of the above, the fan motor requires service. Contact IQAir support with your unit serial number. The HealthPro Plus has a 10-year unit warranty.
Do not attempt to open the motor housing yourself — this voids the warranty.
