E6

Tami4 Water Dispenser

Severity: Moderate

What Does This Error Mean?

Error E6 on a Tami4 means the UV sterilisation lamp — which kills bacteria in the water before dispensing — has failed or reached end of life. The unit will continue to dispense filtered water, but UV sterilisation is inactive.

Affected Models

  • Tami4 Edge
  • Tami4 Neo
  • Tami4 Pro (UV-equipped models)

Common Causes

  • UV lamp has reached end of its rated lifespan (typically 1–2 years)
  • UV lamp power supply failure inside the unit
  • UV sensor that monitors lamp output has failed
  • UV lamp shattered or disconnected due to physical impact

How to Fix It

  1. Note when the UV lamp was last replaced

If it has been over 12–18 months since the last service, the lamp has likely simply burned out from normal use.

  2. Restart the unit

Power-cycle the Tami4. If E6 clears, the lamp may have had a temporary fault. Monitor for recurrence.

  3. Continue using the unit for filtered (non-UV) water

The water is still filtered by the filter cartridge. UV sterilisation provides an additional layer of protection but the filtration system is still active.

  4. Book a service call

Contact Tami4 to schedule a lamp replacement. If you are on a service subscription, this is typically covered.

When to Call a Professional

Yes — UV lamp replacement requires a Tami4 technician.

Tami4 Error E6 — UV Lamp Has Failed

E6 tells you that the UV sterilisation system is not working. This is the stage in your Tami4 that uses ultraviolet light to kill any bacteria or microorganisms that might have passed through the filter.

Is the Water Safe?

The water is still filtered — the carbon filter continues to operate normally. But the additional protection of UV sterilisation is gone. For most healthy adults, this is not an immediate concern, but the lamp should be replaced promptly.

What Tami4 Will Do

If you are on a Tami4 service plan, simply call or use the app to report E6. A technician will come to your home or office, replace the lamp, and reset the counter. It is a quick visit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is E6 water safe to drink?

The activated carbon filter is still working, so the water is still filtered. However, without UV sterilisation, bacteria that survive filtration are not being neutralised. If someone in your household is immunocompromised or very young, consider boiling water from the unit until the lamp is replaced.

How long does a Tami4 UV lamp last?

Typically 12–24 months, depending on usage. Tami4 service subscriptions usually include UV lamp replacement on schedule.
