What Does This Error Mean?

Meta Quest storage full means you need to delete unused games or apps before installing new ones. Go to Settings > Storage to see which apps are using the most space, then uninstall the ones you no longer play. Quest does not support expandable storage.

Common Causes

Large VR games (many are 10–40GB each) quickly fill limited internal storage
Downloaded media files, screenshots, or video recordings consuming storage
Multiple installed apps that are no longer used
App update files left as cached data
Meta Quest does not support microSD or any external storage expansion

How to Fix It

Check storage usage.

Go to Settings > Storage on the Quest. The storage breakdown shows which apps are using the most space. Identify large games you no longer play — many VR titles are 15–40GB.
Uninstall unused apps and games.

Hold any app icon in the App Library and select Uninstall. You can reinstall purchased games at any time from the Meta Store at no additional cost — your save data for cloud-saving games will be restored. Target the largest apps first.
Delete stored videos and screenshots.

Long recording sessions can consume significant storage. Go to Files > Video or Files > Photos in the Quest headset. Transfer important recordings to a PC via USB cable and then delete them from the headset.
Transfer recordings via USB.

Connect the Quest to a PC with a USB-C cable. Put the headset on and approve the USB file transfer permission prompt. The Quest will appear as a drive on the PC — copy recordings from DCIM/Camera to the PC, then delete them from the Quest.
Clear app cache (where available).

Some apps allow you to clear cached data without uninstalling. In the App Library, select the app's options and look for 'Clear Cache' if available. This removes temporary files while keeping your save data.

When to Call a Professional

Meta Quest internal storage cannot be expanded and has no external storage option. The only solutions are to uninstall apps, delete recordings, or upgrade to a higher-capacity model.
