Two-Way Audio Not Working
eufy Baby Monitor
Severity:What Does This Error Mean?
Grant microphone permission to the eufy app: phone Settings → Apps → eufy Security → Permissions → Microphone → Allow. In the live view, press and hold the microphone icon to talk — releasing it stops the audio. If the camera speaker is silent, check the volume setting in the eufy app live view screen.
Affected Models
- eufy SpaceView Pro
- eufy Baby Monitor E110
- eufy S340 Baby Monitor
- eufy Video Baby Monitor (2.4K)
- eufy Babyphone with Camera
Common Causes
- Microphone permission not granted to the eufy Security app on the phone
- Microphone icon not held during two-way talk (push-to-talk)
- Camera speaker volume set to minimum in the app
- Weak Wi-Fi causing the upload audio stream (phone → camera) to drop
- Camera firmware bug blocking two-way talk
How to Fix It
-
Grant microphone permission to the eufy app
iPhone: Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → eufy Security → On. Android: Settings → Apps → eufy Security → Permissions → Microphone → Allow. Without this permission, the app cannot use your phone's microphone.
-
Use push-to-talk correctly
In the eufy live view screen, press and hold the microphone icon to transmit audio to the camera speaker. Release to stop. The two-way audio is push-to-talk — it does not work hands-free unless your model supports hands-free mode.
-
Check camera speaker volume
In the live view screen, look for a volume or speaker icon. Increase the camera volume. Some eufy cameras have a separate output volume for two-way audio that defaults to a low level.
-
Check Wi-Fi upload speed
Two-way audio requires your phone to upload audio to the camera in real time. On a slow or congested Wi-Fi network, this stream drops. Move closer to the router and test again.
-
Reinstall the eufy Security app
Delete the eufy Security app from your phone and reinstall it from the App Store or Google Play. This resets all permission states and clears corrupted audio module data.
When to Call a Professional
If two-way audio does not work even after granting microphone permission and with a strong Wi-Fi connection, the camera's internal speaker or two-way audio module may have failed — contact eufy support.
Frequently Asked Questions
eufy baby monitor two-way talk works on Wi-Fi but not on 4G — why?
Two-way audio on mobile data requires eufy's cloud relay to handle the real-time audio stream. Make sure you are signed into your eufy account in the app. If the relay is down or latency is high, two-way talk will drop.
Baby can hear me through eufy monitor but I can't hear them — why?
The two directions of audio are handled separately. For hearing the baby, check the mute icon in the app and your phone's volume. For speaking to the baby, check microphone permission and press-hold the talk button.
eufy two-way audio has echo — how to fix?
Echo happens when the camera's microphone picks up audio from its own speaker. Lower the camera speaker volume in the app, or reduce the distance between you and your phone when talking.
