E3
Bio Bidet Bidet
Severity: ModerateWhat Does This Error Mean?
E3 indicates the wand position sensor has failed — the controller can't tell where the wand currently is.
The wash function is disabled because positioning isn't safe without sensor feedback.
Power-cycle once to rule out transient issues.
If E3 persists, sensor replacement is needed (service-tech work, 100-200 USD).
Affected Models
- Bio Bidet BB-2000
- Bio Bidet BB-1000
- Bio Bidet Slim Three
- Bio Bidet Discovery DLS
Common Causes
- Position sensor failed (Hall-effect or mechanical)
- Sensor wire damaged
- Connector loose at the controller
- Magnet displaced (some models)
- Controller sensor input damaged
How to Fix It
-
Power-cycle the unit.
Unplug from the GFCI for 60 seconds.
Plug back in.
Let the Bio Bidet boot.
Some E3 events are transient and clear after fresh boot. -
Check for physical wand obstructions.
Lift the seat and check the wand outlet.
Should be clean and unobstructed.
While E3 is a sensor code, mechanical issues that prevent wand movement can confuse the sensor.
Clear any visible debris. -
Don't disassemble.
The position sensor is inside the seat assembly.
Disassembly risks damage.
This is service-tech work. -
Contact Bio Bidet support.
Call 877-339-5214 for repair scheduling or warranty replacement.
Sensor replacement: 100-200 USD parts plus labor.
Free under warranty (3 years on major Bio Bidet components). -
Use other Washlet features.
While waiting for repair, heated seat and other features may still work depending on model.
The toilet itself flushes fine.
Wash function is what's affected by E3.
Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between E2 and E3?
E2: wand motor problem (motor failed or jammed).
E3: wand sensor problem (sensor failed, can't read position).
Different parts but related function — both affect the wash positioning system.
Repair path is similar in both cases.
Can dust cause E3?
Indirectly — accumulated dust on the magnet or sensor can attenuate the magnetic signal the Hall-effect sensor reads.
Most bathrooms aren't dusty enough for this, but rooms used as storage with limited airflow could see this.
Regular cleaning of the wand area helps.
