Raymarine Axiom No Radar Display — Quantum Connection Fix

What Does This Error Mean?

Raymarine no-radar means the Axiom can't see the connected radar dome (Quantum, Magnum, etc.) on the SeaTalkHS network.
Causes: dome powered off, network cable loose at dome or chartplotter, dome firmware outdated, or wireless Quantum's WiFi connection dropped.
Verify dome power, reseat network cables, and use Raymarine's LightHouse software updater to align firmware versions.

How to Fix It

  1. Confirm dome power.

    Most dome installs have a dedicated breaker on the boat panel.
    Switch on, wait 30 seconds, listen for the 'whoosh' as motor spins up.
    Wireless Quantum models also need power even though network is wireless.

  2. Reseat SeaTalkHS Ethernet cable.

    Power off chartplotter and dome.
    Unplug Ethernet at dome (typically inside dome boot, requires opening) and at chartplotter.
    Look for green corrosion on RJ45 connector pins.
    Push back firmly until latch clicks.
    Power on switch, then dome, then chartplotter.

  3. For Quantum Wireless: check WiFi pairing.

    Axiom → Settings → Network → check that Quantum is listed and Connected.
    If shown but disconnected, tap to reconnect.
    If not shown, re-pair from the dome's pairing button (varies by Quantum model).

  4. Update firmware on both.

    Use LightHouse Updater (PC software).
    Download latest LightHouse for the chartplotter.
    Quantum dome firmware often included in same update package.
    Apply via SD card transfer to Axiom, then push to dome.

  5. Check network switch power.

    Raymarine HS5 SeaTalkHS switch needs 12V supply.
    Look for power LED on the switch box.
    Inline fuse on red wire — replace if blown (5A).
    Without switch, no network communication.

  6. Listen for dome motor.

    Dome should make a steady spinning sound.
    Silence or grinding = motor stuck or failed.
    Mechanical failure inside the dome is dealer service.
