E15
Bosch Dishwasher
Severity: ModerateWhat Does This Error Mean?
Error E15 means water has collected in the base tray and the anti-flood protection has switched off the machine. Tilt the dishwasher slightly to drain the base tray, then run a drain cycle.
How to Fix It
-
Switch the dishwasher off and disconnect it from the mains.
-
Carefully tilt the machine forward a few centimetres so water in the base tray can run out through the door seal area. Place towels on the floor first.
-
Leave it tilted for 1-2 minutes, then stand it upright and allow 30 minutes for any moisture to evaporate.
-
Check under the dishwasher for a visible leak — inspect the door seal, spray arms, and hose connections for drips or mineral deposits.
-
Reconnect power and run a short programme. If E15 returns immediately, there is an active internal leak and a technician should inspect the appliance.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will E15 clear on its own?
Not while water remains in the base. You must drain the base tray first. Once empty, the float switch resets and E15 should clear.
What causes water to collect in the base?
A split door seal, cracked spray arm, loose hose connection, or a pump seal starting to weep can all drip water into the base over time.
Is it safe to keep running the dishwasher after E15?
No. Running it with water in the base risks a larger leak or electrical fault. Drain the base and identify the leak source before using it again.
