E25
Bosch Dishwasher
Severity: ModerateWhat Does This Error Mean?
Error E25 means the drain pump impeller is jammed or the coarse filter in the sump area is blocked. Clear the blockage from the pump cover area and run a drain cycle.
How to Fix It
-
Turn off and unplug the dishwasher. Remove the bottom rack.
-
Remove the filter assembly (twist and lift). Look into the sump — you will see a round pump cover. Remove any debris from around and under it.
-
On most Bosch models the pump cover can be twisted anti-clockwise and removed. Check the impeller beneath for debris: glass fragments, fruit stones, and small bones are common culprits.
-
Clear any debris with tweezers or a cloth. Refit the pump cover and filter. Reconnect power.
-
Run a rinse-and-drain programme. If E25 returns, the pump may have failed and will need replacement.
Frequently Asked Questions
E25 came back after I cleaned the filter — what next?
If the filter and pump cover area are clear but E25 returns, a small object may be lodged deeper in the pump body, or the pump motor itself has failed. A technician can remove and inspect the pump.
Is E25 the same as E24?
They are related but distinct. E24 is a general drainage fault. E25 specifically points to a blocked or faulty drain pump impeller.
How do I prevent E25 from recurring?
Scrape plates before loading, always use the coarse filter, and run a monthly hot maintenance wash with dishwasher cleaner.
