Water Intake Fault
Miele Dishwasher
Severity: CriticalWhat Does This Error Mean?
A Miele dishwasher water intake fault means the machine cannot fill with water within the allowed time. Check that the water tap under the sink is fully open and the inlet hose has no kinks.
Affected Models
- Miele G Series Dishwasher
- Miele Active Dishwasher
- Miele Classic Plus Dishwasher
- Miele Excellence Dishwasher
- Miele AutoDos Dishwasher
Common Causes
- Water tap under the sink is closed or partially open
- Kinked or crimped inlet hose preventing water flow
- Blocked mesh filter on the water inlet connection
- Low household water pressure
- Faulty water inlet valve solenoid not opening
How to Fix It
-
Check the water tap.
Open the cabinet under the sink and find the water supply tap connected to the dishwasher inlet hose. Turn it fully counter-clockwise to open. A tap left only half-open after plumbing work is a very common cause of this fault.
-
Check the inlet hose for kinks.
Pull the dishwasher slightly forward and inspect the inlet hose. Straighten any bends or kinks. Ensure the hose is not being crushed where the machine is pushed against the cabinet.
-
Clean the inlet mesh filter.
Turn off the water supply tap. Unscrew the inlet hose from the inlet port at the back of the machine. Remove the small mesh filter inside the port with pliers, rinse it under running water, and refit.
-
Reset the dishwasher.
After checking the water supply, hold the Start/Stop button for 5 seconds to cancel the current programme. Restart and confirm the machine fills normally.
When to Call a Professional
If the tap is fully open, the hose is clear, and the mesh filter is clean but the intake fault persists, the water inlet valve solenoid has failed and needs replacement by a Miele technician.
