LC

Samsung Dishwasher

Severity:

What Does This Error Mean?

Error LC means the leak sensor in the base tray has detected water. Switch off immediately, pull the machine out, dry the base tray, and find the source of the leak before using it again.

How to Fix It

  1. Switch off and unplug the dishwasher immediately.

  2. Pull the machine forward from its housing. Look underneath — on Samsung models the leak sensor sits in the base tray. Tilt the machine slightly to drain accumulated water.

  3. Use a sponge to remove all water from the base tray. Allow it to dry completely (1-2 hours, or use a fan on low to speed this up).

  4. Inspect hose connections, the door seal, the spray arms, and the pump area for signs of moisture or mineral deposits indicating where the drip originated.

  5. Once the base is dry and the leak source is fixed (or confirmed as a one-off splash), restore power and run a short test cycle while watching for re-accumulation.

Frequently Asked Questions

LC appeared but I cannot see any water — what should I check?

The sensor can be triggered by condensation or a very small drip. Dry the base tray thoroughly and run one cycle. If LC does not return, it was a minor event. If it returns, there is an active slow leak.

Can the LC sensor itself malfunction?

Yes. If the sensor reed switch corrodes or sticks, it can report a leak that is not present. A technician can test and replace the sensor independently.

Is it safe to run the dishwasher with the LC error?

No. Running it risks water reaching electrical components. Always investigate and fix the leak before resuming normal use.
