Electrolux Dryer E61 Error — Heating Element Failure

What Does This Error Mean?

E61 means the heating element has failed and is no longer producing heat. The dryer will tumble but clothes will not dry. Clean the vent first, then replace the element.

Locate the thermal limiter on the heating element assembly and test it with a multimeter. No continuity means the limiter has opened. Replace it — do not bypass it.
Test and replace the heating element.

If the thermal limiter is intact, test the heating coil for continuity. No continuity means the coil has failed. Replace the element assembly with the correct part for your Electrolux model.
