Left/Right Mismatch

Jabra Headphones

Severity: Minor

What Does This Error Mean?

When only one Jabra earbud connects or both connect as separate mono devices, the pairing got out of sync.
Place both buds in the case, hold the case button to forget device, then re-pair from your phone's Bluetooth menu.
Both buds must be in the case during reset for the procedure to work properly.

Affected Models

  • Jabra Elite 75t
  • Jabra Elite 85t
  • Jabra Elite 7 Pro
  • Jabra Elite 8 Active
  • Jabra Elite 10

Common Causes

  • Buds paired to different devices simultaneously
  • Firmware update interrupted on one bud
  • One bud was missing during last pairing
  • Battery on one side fully discharged for extended period
  • Bluetooth cache corrupt on phone

How to Fix It

  1. Forget the buds on your phone.

Phone Bluetooth settings → find your Jabra device → Forget/Unpair.
Do this for every entry — sometimes there are two listed when buds got out of sync.
    Forget all Jabra entries.

  2. Place both buds in the case and close the lid.

Make sure both buds make contact with the charging pins.
The status LED on the case should show charging.
Wait 30 seconds with the lid closed.

  3. Hold the reset combination.

    Open the lid.
Press and hold both bud buttons (or the case button on later models) for 10-15 seconds.
The case LED flashes — that's the factory-reset confirmation.
Procedure varies slightly by model; check the Jabra Sound+ app help for your exact unit.

  4. Re-pair from scratch.

Take both buds out of the case at the same time.
The buds enter pairing mode automatically.
On your phone, scan for new Bluetooth devices and select the Jabra unit.
Both should pair as a stereo set.

  5. Test stereo separation.

Play a stereo test file or music with strong panning.
Confirm sound moves from left to right naturally.
If you hear identical mono in both, the buds didn't link properly — repeat the reset.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if one bud refuses to leave standby during reset?

The bud's battery may be too low to respond.
Leave it in the case for 30+ minutes to charge above 5%.
Then attempt the reset.
A fully discharged bud needs charge before any button input is recognised.
