A1
Boneco Humidifier
Severity:What Does This Error Mean?
A1 on a Boneco humidifier simply means the water tank is empty. Remove the tank, fill with fresh water, and replace it firmly. The A1 alert clears automatically once the tank is refilled and seated.
Affected Models
- Boneco H680
- Boneco H300
- Boneco H400
- Boneco H700
- Boneco Air-O-Swiss 7531
Common Causes
- Water tank has run out of water during operation
- Tank removed without switching off the humidifier
- Tank not fully clicked into place after a previous refill
How to Fix It
-
Remove the water tank.
Lift or slide out the water tank from the humidifier body. The A1 alert will continue while the tank is removed.
-
Fill the tank with fresh, cool water.
Use cool tap water or filtered water. Avoid hot water — it can accelerate mineral buildup and damage the ultrasonic transducer or evaporative wick.
-
Reinstall the tank firmly.
Place the tank back into the humidifier and press it down until it seats firmly. A tank that is not fully seated may keep the A1 alert active.
-
The A1 alert clears automatically.
Once the water level sensor detects water in a properly seated tank, A1 disappears and the humidifier resumes normal operation.
Frequently Asked Questions
How often does a Boneco humidifier need refilling?
A Boneco H680 tank holds approximately 7 litres and typically lasts 24–48 hours depending on the humidity setting and room size. Smaller models with 2–3 litre tanks may need daily refilling in dry conditions.
Can running the Boneco dry (A1 ignored) damage it?
Most Boneco models automatically stop misting when A1 appears, preventing dry running. However, leaving the unit running on A1 for extended periods can stress the fan and heating element. Always refill promptly when A1 appears.
