  3. Reset the filter indicator

  4. Check the replacement filter part number

  5. Note the filter change interval

Frequently Asked Questions

Honeywell filter check light on after I just replaced the filter — why?

The filter indicator works on a timer rather than detecting actual filter condition. After installing a new filter, press and hold the Filter Reset button for 3–5 seconds to reset the timer. The light will go out.

Can I wash a Honeywell wicking filter with soap?

No. Soap and detergent leave residue in the filter fibres that can produce an odour when the humidifier runs and may affect mist output. Only rinse with cool plain water — no cleaning agents.

How do I know if my Honeywell filter needs replacing rather than rinsing?

If the filter is hard or stiff when squeezed, has a strong odour, or is dark yellow or brown, it should be replaced. Rinsing cannot remove mineral crystallisation that has set into the filter fibres.
