Cobra VHF GPS cold start can take 5-15 minutes if the radio hasn't been powered on in weeks or has moved hundreds of miles.
If 15 minutes pass with no lock, the antenna may be obstructed (under hardtop, surrounded by metal) or the receiver itself is failing.
Move the radio outdoors with clear sky view; try once more.

  2. Confirm clear sky view.

    Bring radio outside, away from hardtops, T-tops, radar arches, and tall buildings.

    Indoor or under metal = no GPS lock, period.

  3. Power-cycle once at 15 minutes.

    If 15 minutes outside with no lock, power off for 30 seconds, power back on.
