F11

Frigidaire Oven

Severity: Moderate

What Does This Error Mean?

F11 means a control keypad key is stuck or shorted and registering as continuously pressed. Try a power reset first. If F11 persists, the keypad membrane has failed and needs to be replaced.

Affected Models

  • Frigidaire Electric Range
  • Frigidaire Gas Range
  • Frigidaire Gallery Range
  • Frigidaire Professional Range

Common Causes

  • Shorted or stuck touchpad membrane key
  • Moisture or grease seeping under the control panel
  • Damaged control panel ribbon cable
  • Faulty keypad membrane from normal wear

How to Fix It

  1. Reset the oven.

Turn off the circuit breaker for 5 minutes, then restore power. A temporary moisture or voltage glitch can produce F11 and a reset will clear it.

  2. Clean the control panel.

Wipe around all keypad buttons with a dry cloth. If a spill or steam has reached the membrane, allow it to dry completely (leave the power off for several hours) before testing again.

  3. Replace the keypad membrane.

If F11 persists after a reset and cleaning, the membrane is faulty. On many Frigidaire models the membrane is available as a separate part. On others, it is sold with the control board.

When to Call a Professional

Replacing the keypad membrane on a Frigidaire range is a DIY-feasible repair. On models where the touchpad is integrated with the control board, the board must be replaced as a unit.
