F11
Frigidaire Oven
Severity: ModerateWhat Does This Error Mean?
F11 means a control keypad key is stuck or shorted and registering as continuously pressed. Try a power reset first. If F11 persists, the keypad membrane has failed and needs to be replaced.
Affected Models
- Frigidaire Electric Range
- Frigidaire Gas Range
- Frigidaire Gallery Range
- Frigidaire Professional Range
Common Causes
- Shorted or stuck touchpad membrane key
- Moisture or grease seeping under the control panel
- Damaged control panel ribbon cable
- Faulty keypad membrane from normal wear
How to Fix It
-
Reset the oven.
Turn off the circuit breaker for 5 minutes, then restore power. A temporary moisture or voltage glitch can produce F11 and a reset will clear it.
-
Clean the control panel.
Wipe around all keypad buttons with a dry cloth. If a spill or steam has reached the membrane, allow it to dry completely (leave the power off for several hours) before testing again.
-
Replace the keypad membrane.
If F11 persists after a reset and cleaning, the membrane is faulty. On many Frigidaire models the membrane is available as a separate part. On others, it is sold with the control board.
When to Call a Professional
Replacing the keypad membrane on a Frigidaire range is a DIY-feasible repair. On models where the touchpad is integrated with the control board, the board must be replaced as a unit.
