E-07
Samsung Oven
Severity: ModerateWhat Does This Error Mean?
E-07 indicates a heating element fault — typically the bake or broil element has burned out, broken visibly, or its wiring has come loose.
Look at the elements through the oven door — visible breaks or sagging spots are obvious failures.
Most replacements are 50–100 USD parts and a 20-minute swap by a service tech.
Don't try to use the oven on the failed mode — heating won't work.
Affected Models
- Samsung NE series electric range
- Samsung wall oven
- Samsung double wall oven
- Samsung Flex Duo range
Common Causes
- Bake or broil element burned out (most common)
- Element visibly broken or sagging
- Element wire connection loose at the back of the oven
- Element relay on control board failed
- Wiring damaged from drip pan removal
How to Fix It
-
Inspect the heating elements.
Open the oven door.
Look at the bake element (bottom) and broil element (top).
Both should be glowing red when in use, or look uniform when off.
Visible damage — a broken segment, sag, or burnt spot — confirms element failure. -
Try the other heating mode.
If E-07 only appears on Bake, try Broil — and vice versa.
If only one mode triggers E-07, that element is the failed one.
If both modes trigger E-07, there's a controller or wiring issue.
Note this for the technician. -
Power-cycle the oven.
Switch the breaker off for 10 minutes.
Switch back on.
Some E-07 events are transient — fresh boot can clear them.
If E-07 returns when you try to heat, the issue is real and needs repair. -
Don't try to replace the element yourself.
Heating elements run on 240V (US ovens).
Replacement involves working with mains-level power.
This is service-tech work.
Don't risk shock or damage from improper installation. -
Schedule Samsung service.
Provide model and serial numbers.
Element replacement is 50–100 USD parts plus an hour of labor.
Total bill 150–250 USD out of warranty.
Free under warranty.
If both elements are aging, replace both at once to save a future visit.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will the oven work with one failed element?
Sort of — the surviving element still heats, but cooking results suffer.
For example, with broil failed, baking still works but you can't broil.
With bake failed, broiling works but you can't bake.
Convection cooking on dual-element ovens may work fine since it uses a third element.
How long do oven elements typically last?
5–10 years of regular use is typical.
Heavy use (daily baking) wears them faster.
Self-clean cycles age them faster — high temperatures stress the element wire.
If yours is past 10 years, replacement is normal end-of-life maintenance, not a defect.
