F2E0
Whirlpool Oven
Severity: ModerateWhat Does This Error Mean?
F2E0 means a key on the control touchpad is stuck or reading as continuously pressed. This can be caused by moisture, a damaged membrane, or a failed touchpad. Try a reset first.
Affected Models
- Whirlpool Electric Range
- Whirlpool WFE Series
- Whirlpool Gold Oven
- Whirlpool Accubake Oven
Common Causes
- Shorted or stuck touchpad membrane key
- Moisture or spill under the control panel
- Damaged control panel membrane
- Faulty ribbon cable connection between touchpad and control board
How to Fix It
-
Reset the oven.
Turn off the circuit breaker for 5 minutes, then restore power. If a moisture or temporary fault caused F2E0, this will clear it.
-
Inspect the control panel for moisture or debris.
Gently clean around all touchpad keys with a dry cloth. If a spill has seeped under the panel, allow it to dry completely before attempting to use the oven.
-
Replace the touchpad or touchpad-and-control board assembly.
If F2E0 persists after a reset and there is no visible moisture, the touchpad membrane has failed. On some Whirlpool models the touchpad is separate; on others it is sold with the control board as one unit. Check your model number.
When to Call a Professional
If a reset and cleaning do not clear F2E0, the touchpad membrane has failed. This is a DIY-feasible replacement on most Whirlpool models.
