Overloaded
EcoFlow Portable Power Station
Severity:What Does This Error Mean?
EcoFlow shows 'Overloaded' when the total draw from connected appliances exceeds the inverter's rated wattage. Disconnect all devices immediately, then reconnect them one at a time to identify the overloading appliance.
Affected Models
- EcoFlow DELTA
- EcoFlow DELTA 2
- EcoFlow DELTA Pro
- EcoFlow DELTA Max
- EcoFlow RIVER 2 Pro
Common Causes
- Total connected load exceeds inverter rating (2000W on DELTA, 3600W on DELTA Pro)
- Single high-draw appliance (space heater, microwave, circular saw) over the unit's limit
- X-Boost enabled but appliance wattage still too high for the boosted limit
- Simultaneous use of multiple large appliances pushing total over threshold
- Short circuit in a connected device causing a sudden current spike
How to Fix It
-
Disconnect all connected devices immediately.
Press and hold the AC output button to turn off the AC ports if the display is still showing the overload. Do not try to identify the culprit while devices are still drawing power.
-
Check the wattage of each appliance.
Look at the label on each device for its rated wattage. Spacial heaters typically draw 1500W, microwaves 700–1200W, and power tools 1800W+. Make sure your total planned load is below your EcoFlow model's inverter rating.
-
Restart the EcoFlow unit.
Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to fully power off. Wait 10 seconds, then power on again. This clears the overload latch from the inverter control board.
-
Reconnect appliances one at a time.
After restarting, turn on AC output and reconnect devices individually. Watch the wattage display after each connection to track your total load. Stop before reaching the inverter limit.
-
Use X-Boost for compatible appliances.
EcoFlow X-Boost technology allows the DELTA series to run appliances up to 2200W that normally exceed the rated output. Enable X-Boost in the EcoFlow app under AC Output settings. Note: X-Boost only works with resistive loads (heaters, kettles) — not motors or compressors.
When to Call a Professional
If the overload error appears with no devices connected, or the unit does not clear after disconnecting everything, the inverter board may be faulty. Contact EcoFlow support.
