Er7

Ninja Foodi Pressure Cooker

Severity: Minor

What Does This Error Mean?

Er7 means the cooking pot isn't detected — either it's missing, not seated correctly, or the wrong type.
Lift the pot out and reseat it firmly on the heating element.
Wipe the heating area underneath clean of any residue.
If you've replaced your pot with an aftermarket one, switch back to the original.
Most Er7 events fix in one minute.

Affected Models

  • Ninja Foodi OP300
  • Ninja Foodi Deluxe XL
  • Ninja Foodi Smart XL
  • Ninja Foodi 11-in-1

Common Causes

  • Pot not seated flat on the heating element
  • Food crumbs or residue under the pot
  • Wrong pot installed (aftermarket replacement)
  • Pot detection sensor failed (rare)
  • Heating element damaged from previous Burn events

How to Fix It

  1. Cancel and unplug.

    Press Stop on the touchscreen.
    Unplug the unit.
Wait 5 minutes for the pot to cool before handling.

  2. Lift the cooking pot out.

Use the side handles to lift the pot straight up.
Don't tilt it across the heating element.
Set it on a heat-safe surface.

  3. Wipe the heating element area clean.

Look at the metal disc or coil where the pot was sitting.
Wipe clean with a dry cloth.
Any crumbs, water drops, or grease residue prevents the pot from sitting flat.
Don't use water near the heating element.

  4. Inspect the bottom of the pot.

Turn the pot over and look at the bottom.
    Should be clean and flat.
If there's burnt-on food residue from previous cooks, that prevents proper contact.
Soak in soapy water and scrape clean before reseating.

  5. Reseat the pot and test.

Place the pot back into the unit.
Push down gently to confirm full contact with the heating element.
Plug back in and try the program again.
Er7 should be gone if the pot is now seated correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use a generic replacement pot?

Officially no — Ninja recommends only their original pots or proper Ninja replacements matching your model.
Aftermarket pots may have slightly different dimensions or thermal properties that prevent proper detection.
Stick with original or Ninja-branded replacements.

Why does Er7 sometimes appear after cleaning?

Dishwasher residue or detergent film on the bottom of the pot prevents proper sensor contact.
Always wipe the pot bottom dry with a clean cloth after dishwashing.
Most post-cleaning Er7 events clear with a quick wipe.
