Frequently Asked Questions
BenQ projector shuts off after 10 minutes — is it overheating?
If the TEMP indicator lights up when it shuts off, yes — it is overheating. Clean the filter and vents. If the TEMP light does not come on, the lamp may be failing instead.
BenQ projector fan running at maximum speed constantly — is that normal?
The fan running at maximum speed is the projector trying to cool itself under heat stress. Check the filter and vents — a dirty filter forces the fan to run harder.
BenQ projector ceiling-mounted and overheating — what to check?
Ceiling mounts leave less airflow space. Ensure the mount allows at least 30 cm clearance above the projector. Also check the correct ceiling-mount mode is set in the menu (Rear-Ceiling or Front-Ceiling).
