Frequently Asked Questions
Optoma projector turns on and off immediately — is it the lamp?
Yes. If the projector starts and shuts down within seconds with the LAMP indicator lit, the lamp has failed and cannot maintain an arc. Replace the lamp.
Optoma projector lamp error after shipping or moving?
Transporting a projector can sometimes dislodge the lamp from its housing. Open the lamp door, remove and reseat the lamp firmly, then test before assuming the lamp itself has failed.
Can I use a third-party lamp in my Optoma projector?
Yes, compatible third-party lamps are available and generally work well. For best reliability and longest lamp life, use an Optoma OEM lamp. Some third-party lamps may produce lower brightness.
