Error 1
Eufy Robot Vacuum
Severity: MinorWhat Does This Error Mean?
Error 1 on a Eufy means the front bumper is stuck — pressed in and not springing back.
The bumper is the entire front lip of the robot, and it's spring-loaded to detect collisions.
If something has wedged it inward, or it's caught on the body, the robot thinks it's continuously hitting a wall.
Push the bumper firmly several times — usually pops free.
If not, lift the robot and look for debris around the bumper edges.
Affected Models
- Eufy RoboVac 11S
- Eufy RoboVac 15C
- Eufy RoboVac G30
- Eufy RoboVac X8
- Eufy RoboVac L70
Common Causes
- Bumper wedged in by a small object (lego, pebble, dust clump)
- Bumper springs sticking after a hard collision
- Bumper edges rubbing against the robot body
- Hair or fibers caught in the bumper hinge
- Bumper internally damaged from impact
How to Fix It
-
Press and release the bumper several times.
Push the front bumper inward, then let go.
It should spring back instantly with a faint click.
Do this 5–10 times.
Most of the time this alone clears Error 1 — whatever was sticking pops loose with the repeated motion. -
Look for objects wedged in the bumper gap.
Get down to floor level and look at the gap between the bumper and the robot body.
You're looking for small debris — a stone, a piece of plastic, a coin.
Anything wedged in that gap stops the bumper from moving freely. -
Check both edges of the bumper.
The bumper pivots on hinges at each side.
Look at the left and right edges where the bumper meets the body.
Hair or fibers can wrap around the hinges and bind them.
Pull anything you see out with tweezers. -
Listen for the click.
When you press the bumper, you should hear a small click as it returns.
If it returns silently or feels loose, the internal switch is damaged and the robot can't detect collisions.
That needs Eufy support — they may replace under warranty. -
Reset the robot.
Hold the on/off switch for 10 seconds until the robot beeps.
This forces a reboot.
Power back on and run a short cycle.
If Error 1 returns immediately with no obvious obstruction, the bumper switch needs service.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does Error 1 only happen near furniture?
Tight spaces near furniture legs let the bumper get briefly trapped — wedged against a chair leg in just the wrong angle, or pushed all the way in by a heavy table base.
If Error 1 happens repeatedly in one room, restrict that room with a virtual wall or no-go zone.
Is Error 1 covered under warranty?
If the bumper switch fails internally and the robot is under warranty, yes — Eufy ships replacements through their support email.
If the bumper is mechanically damaged from a fall or impact, that's user damage and not covered.
