Error 19

Roborock Robot Vacuum

Severity: Moderate

What Does This Error Mean?

Error 19 means the robot is on the dock but isn't charging — usually the metal contacts on the dock or robot are dirty.
Wipe both pairs with a dry cloth and re-dock.
If charging starts, you're done.
If not, check that the dock has power and try a different wall outlet.

Affected Models

  • Roborock S7
  • Roborock S8
  • Roborock Q7 Max
  • Roborock S5 Max
  • Roborock S6 MaxV

Common Causes

  • Charging contacts dirty — dust, pet hair, or oxidation on the metal pads
  • Dock not powered — adapter loose or wall outlet dead
  • Robot battery aged out (over 3 years) and won't accept charge
  • Dock-side charging circuit failed (uncommon)
  • Wrong-spec replacement adapter being used

How to Fix It

  1. Wipe the contacts on the robot.

Flip the Roborock and find the two metal pads on the underside.
Wipe with a clean dry cloth.
If they look dull or oxidised, a pencil eraser brings them back to clean metal without damage.

  2. Wipe the contacts on the dock.

The dock has matching contacts where the robot meets it.
Wipe those too with a dry cloth.
Hair and dust accumulate at floor level and the dock contacts are right there.

  3. Check that the dock has power.

Look for the indicator LED on the dock — it should be on solid.
If it's off, check the adapter is plugged in firmly at both ends.
Try a different wall outlet to rule out a dead one.

  4. Manually re-dock the robot.

Place the Roborock on the dock by hand, lining up the contacts carefully.
You should hear a chime within a few seconds and the battery indicator should start animating.
If charging starts, you've cleared Error 19.

  5. Check battery age if everything else is clean.

Roborock batteries typically last 3 years.
If yours is older and the contacts and dock both check out, the battery is at end of life.
Roborock sells replacement batteries that slot in with a few screws — $40–$80 depending on model.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why doesn't my Roborock auto-dock to charge?

Auto-docking is a navigation feature — the robot finds the dock using its lidar or camera.
Failure to auto-dock isn't usually Error 19 specifically — it's a navigation issue with the dock placement or the room layout.
Error 19 is what shows when the robot is physically on the dock but can't charge.

Can I use a third-party Roborock dock?

Original Roborock docks are recommended for reliable charging.
Cheap third-party adapters can produce Error 19 even with a healthy robot — voltage tolerances on the charging circuit are tighter than they look.
If you've recently switched, switch back and see if Error 19 clears.
