Error 2
Shark Robot Vacuum
Severity:What Does This Error Mean?
Shark Error 2 means the main brush roll is jammed and the motor has stopped to protect itself. Flip the robot over, remove the brush roll, clear all tangled hair and debris, then reinstall and press Clean to resume.
Affected Models
- Shark IQ Robot
- Shark AI Robot
- Shark Matrix Robot
- Shark ION Robot
- Shark AV Series
Common Causes
- Hair, string, or carpet fibres wrapped tightly around the brush roll
- Debris jammed in the brush roll end bearings
- Worn brush roll with bristles too short to spin freely
How to Fix It
-
Turn the robot off and flip it upside down.
Power off before servicing. Place the robot brush-roll-side up on a flat surface.
-
Remove the brush roll cover.
Press the release tabs and lift the cover free. Note the orientation of the brush roll before removing it.
-
Clear all tangles from the brush roll.
Pull out the brush roll and cut through any wrapped hair with scissors. Remove debris from both end cap bearings — this is where the most binding occurs. A toothpick or thin tool helps dislodge compacted hair from the caps.
-
Clean the brush roll housing.
Wipe the brush roll channel in the robot's base with a dry cloth. Make sure no debris remains that could cause immediate re-jamming.
-
Reinstall and resume.
Reinsert the brush roll and snap the cover back on. Power the robot on and press Clean — Error 2 should be cleared and the brush roll will spin.
