What Does This Error Mean?

Error 003 on a Husqvarna Automower means the right wheel motor is blocked. Tip the mower over and check for grass, twigs, or string wrapped around the right drive wheel. Clear any obstruction and confirm the wheel rotates freely.

How to Fix It

  1. Stop the mower and turn it over.

    Press STOP to access the menu, then carefully tip the mower onto its back on a soft surface (a folded blanket protects the top cover).

  2. Inspect the right drive wheel.

    The right wheel is the larger wheel on the right side as you look at the mower from behind. Check around the axle for grass, garden twine, hair, or other material wound tightly around the shaft.

  3. Remove any wrapped material.

    Use scissors or a small knife to cut wound material away from the axle. Pull off all loose grass and debris. Spin the wheel by hand — it should rotate smoothly without grinding.

  4. Check for stones between the wheel and chassis.

    Look at the gap between the inside of the wheel and the body. A small stone wedged here will block the motor. Pry it out with a screwdriver.

  5. Restart the mower.

    Set the mower upright, close the cover, and press START. Error 003 should clear. If it returns immediately, the right drive motor itself may be failing — book service.
