Error E6

Worx Landroid Robotic Lawn Mower

Severity: Minor

What Does This Error Mean?

Worx Landroid Error E6 means the mower's rain sensor has detected rain or is stuck in the active (rain detected) state, and the mower has refused to mow. The sensor prevents the mower from operating on wet grass to protect both the lawn and the mower. Wait for dry conditions, dry the sensor if it is stuck wet, or temporarily disable the rain sensor in the app settings.

Affected Models

  • Worx Landroid M 500
  • Worx Landroid M 700
  • Worx Landroid L 1000
  • Worx Landroid L 1500
  • Worx Landroid S 300

Common Causes

  • It is currently raining or has rained recently and the sensor is responding correctly
  • The rain sensor is wet from dew, lawn irrigation, or condensation and has not yet dried
  • The rain sensor is stuck in the active position due to dirt, algae, or a calibration drift
  • Rain sensitivity is set too high in the app settings, causing the sensor to trigger on light mist or dew
  • Rain sensor has developed a hardware fault and always reads as wet

How to Fix It

  1. Check whether it has recently rained or the grass is wet

E6 is often working correctly. If the lawn is wet from rain, irrigation, or heavy dew, wait until it dries before expecting the mower to run. Worx recommends waiting at least 30 minutes after rain stops before the sensor clears.

  2. Locate and dry the rain sensor manually

The rain sensor on most Landroid models is a small component on the top of the mower body, usually covered by a transparent cap or recessed into the housing. Use a dry cloth to gently wipe the sensor surface. This often clears an E6 that has persisted after the rain has stopped.

  3. Adjust rain sensor sensitivity in the Landroid app

Open the Landroid app, go to Settings > Rain Sensor. You can reduce the sensitivity level so the sensor requires heavier rainfall to activate. This is useful if E6 triggers too often on light dew that does not actually make the lawn too wet to mow.

  4. Temporarily disable the rain sensor if conditions are dry

If the lawn is clearly dry but E6 persists, you can disable the rain sensor in the Landroid app (Settings > Rain Sensor > Off). This allows the mower to run and confirms whether the sensor is faulty. Re-enable the sensor once you have confirmed whether it is defective.

  5. Clean or replace the rain sensor if the fault persists

A rain sensor that consistently shows E6 on dry days after drying and sensitivity adjustment has likely failed or become contaminated by algae or mineral deposits. Clean the sensor surface with a cotton swab and isopropyl alcohol. If cleaning does not help, the sensor module can be replaced — check Worx parts availability for your model.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I permanently disable the Landroid rain sensor?

Yes. You can turn the rain sensor off in the Landroid app, and the mower will mow regardless of weather. However, mowing wet grass can damage lawn health by compacting and tearing wet turf, and a wet mower is more prone to corrosion. Worx recommends keeping the rain sensor enabled for best results.

Why does Landroid Error E6 sometimes appear in the morning even on clear days?

Morning dew can be heavy enough to trigger the rain sensor, especially on humid days. This is normal behaviour. If you want the mower to operate early in the morning before dew dries, reduce the rain sensor sensitivity in the app or schedule mowing sessions for late morning when dew has cleared.
