Frequently Asked Questions

How long do SimpliSafe sensor batteries last?

SimpliSafe entry sensor batteries (CR2032) last approximately 3–5 years. Motion sensor batteries (CR123A) last about 3 years. Battery life varies with sensor frequency of use and temperature.

SimpliSafe app says low battery but I replaced it — alert still showing?

The app can take up to 24 hours to update the battery status after replacement. Trigger the sensor a few times to send a signal to the base station and accelerate the status update.

SimpliSafe base station low battery — what does that mean?

The SimpliSafe base station uses an internal rechargeable battery as backup power during an outage. If the base station battery is low, it means the backup battery has degraded and may not provide full backup duration. Contact SimpliSafe support for a base station battery replacement.
