What Does This Error Mean?

Vivint panel offline means the smart hub lost connection to Vivint's monitoring servers.
Cellular and WiFi backup both failed, or there's a hardware issue.
Check internet (router status), confirm cellular signal in the app's panel info, and reboot the panel via Settings → Power → Reboot.
If still offline after reboot, call Vivint support — they can do remote diagnostics.

How to Fix It

  1. Check home internet.

    Test on a phone or laptop on your WiFi.
    If internet is down, panel will go offline since cellular alone may not be enough.
    Reboot router (unplug 30 seconds, plug back).
    Wait 5 minutes for stable connection.

  2. Check panel connectivity status.

    On panel: Settings → System Information → Connectivity.
    Shows current connection method and signal strength.
    WiFi connected with 0 bars or 'Searching for cellular' both indicate issues.

  3. Reboot the panel.

    Settings → Power → Reboot.
    Confirm.
    Panel restarts; takes 2-3 minutes.
    Most temporary connection issues clear after reboot.

  4. Check cellular signal.

    If WiFi is up but panel still offline, cellular backup is failing.
    Vivint panels have built-in cellular.
    Move tall furniture or metal objects away from panel.
    Sometimes signal varies by position in the room.

  5. Confirm account active.

    Open the Vivint Smart Home app on your phone.
    If you can log in and see the system, account is active.
    If you get account-related errors, call Vivint billing — service may have been suspended.

  6. Call Vivint support.

    If the panel won't come back online after reboot and account is active, Vivint can run remote diagnostics.
