Eufy Smart Doorbell

Severity: Minor

What Does This Error Mean?

Eufy doorbell setup fails when: phone on 5GHz Wi-Fi (Eufy needs 2.4GHz), Bluetooth disabled (Eufy uses BT to find the doorbell), HomeBase 2 offline (for HomeBase models), or QR code not scanning properly.
Switch phone to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, enable Bluetooth, and make sure HomeBase is online (LED solid blue).
Many Eufy setup issues clear with a fresh phone restart.

Affected Models

  • Eufy Video Doorbell 2K (Battery)
  • Eufy Video Doorbell 2K (Wired)
  • Eufy Video Doorbell Dual
  • Eufy Security Video Doorbell E340

Common Causes

  • Phone on 5GHz Wi-Fi (Eufy needs 2.4GHz)
  • Bluetooth disabled on phone (Eufy uses BT for setup discovery)
  • HomeBase 2 offline (for HomeBase-paired models)
  • QR code on doorbell hard to scan (faded, glare)
  • Eufy Security app outdated
  • Doorbell not in pairing mode (LED not flashing blue)

How to Fix It

  1. Connect phone to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.

    Phone WiFi settings.
    Connect to 2.4GHz network.
If your home has separate 2.4GHz/5GHz SSIDs, pick the 2.4GHz one explicitly.
If combined SSID with band steering, check phone WiFi info to confirm 2.4GHz.

  2. Enable Bluetooth on phone.

Phone Settings → Bluetooth → ON.
Eufy app uses Bluetooth to discover the doorbell during setup.
    Without it, no pairing handshake.

  3. Confirm HomeBase status (if applicable).

If your Eufy doorbell pairs to HomeBase 2, HomeBase must be online.
HomeBase LED: solid blue = online and ready.
Flashing or other colors = setup needed first.
Wired doorbell models often connect direct, not via HomeBase.

  4. Put doorbell in pairing mode.

Hold the SYNC button on the doorbell for 5+ seconds.
LED begins flashing blue — pairing mode active.
Press camera button on HomeBase if pairing via HomeBase.
Without flashing blue LED, app won't find the doorbell.

  5. Update Eufy Security app.

App store → eufy Security → Update.
Setup flow improvements ship in app updates.
    Restart phone after update.

  6. Scan QR code carefully.

Doorbell ships with a sticker showing QR code.
Hold camera 6-10 inches from sticker, good lighting.
If sticker is damaged, app supports manual entry of the doorbell ID printed on it.
