Schedule Conflict
Yale Smart Lock
Severity: MinorWhat Does This Error Mean?
'Schedule Conflict' means two or more user codes have overlapping schedules — the lock can't determine which rule applies.
This usually happens when you have multiple users with similar time-based access.
Open the Yale Access app and review the schedules — find the overlapping codes and adjust times so they don't conflict.
The conflict clears automatically once schedules don't overlap.
Affected Models
- Yale Assure SL
- Yale Assure 2
- Yale Assure Lever
Common Causes
- Two user codes with same active times
- Overlapping recurring schedules across days
- Vacation mode active conflicting with regular schedules
- Daylight savings transition causing temporary overlap
- Recently edited schedule wasn't saved correctly
How to Fix It
-
Open the Yale Access app.
Connect your phone to the Yale Access app and navigate to your lock.
Open the user codes / access codes section.
You'll see a list of all programmed codes with their schedules. -
Review each code's schedule.
Look at the schedule for each code — what days, what times.
Schedule Conflict means at least two codes overlap.
For example, two cleaners both scheduled 8 AM-12 PM on Wednesday.
The lock can't decide which one applies if both arrive. -
Adjust to eliminate overlap.
Edit one of the overlapping schedules.
Either change the time window so they don't overlap, or change the days (e.g., one cleaner Tuesday/Thursday, another Monday/Friday).
Save the edit.
The conflict resolves once schedules are unique. -
Check vacation mode.
If vacation mode is active, it may override or conflict with regular schedules.
Settings → Vacation Mode.
Disable temporarily and see if conflict clears.
If yes, vacation mode is overlapping with a regular schedule — adjust either. -
Verify the fix.
After editing schedules, the Schedule Conflict message should clear within a minute.
If it persists, force-sync the lock — Settings → Sync Now.
Sometimes the lock has stale data and needs to refresh from the cloud.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will codes still work during the conflict?
Yes, but unpredictably.
The lock may apply one schedule, the other, or fall back to default.
This means a user with limited hours might get full access, or a full-access user might be denied during their hours.
Resolve the conflict to ensure access works as designed.
Can I have multiple codes with the same schedule?
Yes — that's not a conflict.
Schedule Conflict only triggers when codes have OVERLAPPING but NOT IDENTICAL schedules.
Two cleaners with the exact same schedule (Tuesday 9-noon) is fine — both can use the lock during those hours.
Two with overlapping but different schedules causes the conflict.
