Stuck on Logo

Hisense Smart TV

Severity:

What Does This Error Mean?

A Hisense TV frozen on the startup logo has corrupted firmware — most often from an interrupted update. Unplugging for 60 seconds sometimes clears it. If not, pressing the pinhole Reset button on the back of the TV while plugging it in forces a factory reset and restores normal booting.

Affected Models

  • Hisense U8K
  • Hisense U7K
  • Hisense U6K
  • Hisense A6K
  • Hisense R6 Series
  • Hisense Roku TV

Common Causes

  • A firmware update was interrupted by a power cut, remote press, or brief power fluctuation
  • The TV's system partition has become corrupted
  • A factory reset was started and interrupted before completing
  • The TV was unplugged during initial setup before the first boot finished
  • Main board eMMC storage failure prevents the full boot from completing

How to Fix It

  1. Unplug the TV from the wall. Wait 60 full seconds. Plug back in and allow up to 3 minutes for the boot to complete.

Some logo-freeze cases resolve with a full power drain. Be patient — do not interrupt the boot.

  2. If the logo freeze persists, locate the Reset pinhole on the back of the TV. Unplug the TV, insert a paperclip, hold the button, then plug the TV in while continuing to hold for 20 seconds.

The TV will boot into recovery/factory reset mode. Release the button once you see a progress bar or the factory reset screen.

  3. On Hisense Roku TVs: press Home 5 times → Up → Rewind 2 times → Fast Forward 2 times on the remote during the logo screen to access the recovery menu.

This Roku key sequence can reach the factory reset menu even when normal navigation is unavailable.

  4. If a factory reset completes, the TV will restart and show the initial setup wizard.

After setup, do not interrupt any firmware updates that are offered — allow them to complete fully.

  5. Contact Hisense support if the factory reset also fails. Provide the model and serial number — some logo-freeze issues have a firmware USB recovery tool available.

Hisense support can supply a firmware image to flash from a USB drive on some models.

When to Call a Professional

If both a long power cycle and a pinhole factory reset fail to get past the logo, the eMMC flash storage or main board may have failed. Contact Hisense support with your model number — logo-freeze after a firmware update is sometimes handled as a warranty case even outside the standard period.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long should a Hisense logo stay on screen during a normal boot?

A normal Hisense TV boot takes 25 to 50 seconds before the home screen appears. If the logo has been on screen for more than 2 minutes without change, the boot is frozen.

The logo screen appears briefly, then the screen goes black — is that stuck on logo?

Not exactly — a black screen after the logo suggests the TV booted but the display output failed. Try the TV without any HDMI devices connected. If the home screen appears with no HDMI, an external device was disrupting the display signal during boot.

Will a factory reset via the pinhole button erase everything?

Yes — all accounts, apps, and settings are erased. Your streaming service subscriptions remain active on those services' servers. You simply need to sign back in after the reset.
