No Signal
Sharp Smart TV
Severity:What Does This Error Mean?
A Sharp TV showing No Signal is almost always set to the wrong input source — it is looking at an HDMI port with nothing connected or the source device is off. Press the Input button and select the correct source. If using an antenna or cable, check the physical connection and rescan for channels.
Affected Models
- Sharp Aquos 4K
- Sharp 4T-C Series
- Sharp Android TV
- Sharp LC Series
- Sharp 2T-C Series
Common Causes
- The TV is set to an HDMI input with no device connected or the device is in standby
- The antenna cable is loose, damaged, or the aerial signal is weak
- The cable or satellite box is not powered on
- The TV was switched to the wrong input accidentally
- For antenna TV — broadcast frequencies have changed and channels need re-scanning
How to Fix It
-
Press the Input or Source button on the remote and cycle through inputs to find the one your device is connected to.
On Sharp Android TV, the Input key opens a source selector list.
-
Confirm the connected device is fully powered on — not in standby.
A cable box or console in standby does not output a signal. Power it on fully.
-
For antenna: check that the coaxial cable is screwed firmly into the TV's RF input. Try a different cable.
A loose coaxial connection is a very common cause of No Signal on the antenna input.
-
For antenna TV: run a channel scan. On Sharp Android TV: Settings → Channels → Tune Channels → Auto Scan.
A fresh scan is required after moving the TV, resetting it, or after local broadcast frequencies change.
-
Reseat the HDMI cable at both ends and try a different HDMI port.
A loose HDMI cable produces a No Signal screen even when the source is on.
When to Call a Professional
No Signal is almost never a TV hardware fault. If every input shows No Signal including confirmed-working devices with known-good cables, the TV's HDMI chip may need professional diagnosis.
Frequently Asked Questions
Every HDMI port shows No Signal — is the TV broken?
Before assuming a hardware fault, confirm each source device is powered on and the cable is properly connected. Try a known-working device (such as a laptop) with a different cable. If nothing produces a signal, the TV's HDMI system needs professional diagnosis.
Sharp TV antenna channels disappeared after a power cut — how do I get them back?
Power cuts can cause the TV to lose its tuned channel list. Run a fresh auto scan from Settings → Channels → Auto Scan. All channels will be found and saved again.
No Signal appeared after I moved the TV — what do I do?
After moving the TV, reconnect all cables firmly and reselect the correct input. For antenna TV, run a new channel scan because the aerial direction or signal strength at the new location may differ.
