What Does This Error Mean?

Samsung soundbar HDMI ARC not working is caused by Anynet+ being disabled on the TV, using a non-ARC HDMI port, or an older cable that does not support ARC. Enable Anynet+ and use the ARC-labelled HDMI port.

How to Fix It

  1. Use the HDMI ARC port

  2. Enable Anynet+ on the TV

  3. Set Sound Output to HDMI ARC

  4. Use a High Speed HDMI cable

  5. Power cycle both devices

  6. Reset the soundbar

Frequently Asked Questions

Samsung soundbar HDMI ARC keeps disconnecting?

Intermittent ARC drops are usually caused by cable quality. Try a certified Premium High Speed HDMI cable. Also check for Samsung TV firmware updates in Settings > Support > Software Update.

Can I use a regular HDMI port for the soundbar?

No. Regular HDMI ports only carry video to the TV. Audio return requires the ARC-labelled port (or eARC on newer TVs) for the signal to travel back to the soundbar.

Anynet+ is on but soundbar still not detected via ARC?

Try a different HDMI cable first. If that fails, reset the soundbar to factory defaults (hold Off for 5 seconds), then reconnect and re-test the ARC link.
