If you want continuous monitoring, the issue is usually weak WiFi at the cooker location, app cached state, or phone going to sleep.
Keep phone awake, ensure strong WiFi at the cooker, and update the Joule app to current version.

How to Fix It

Confirm cook is still running.
Walk to the cooker.
The cooker keeps cooking even when app loses connection.
Look at the heater LED — should be illuminated if heating, off if at temperature.
Manual control still works via the cooker's button. -
Check WiFi at cooker location.
Stand near cooker with phone on same WiFi.
Run speed test or check signal bars.
Below 2 bars = unreliable.
Add WiFi extender if cooker is far from router. -
Keep phone awake.
Phone Settings → Display → Auto-Lock or Sleep Time.
Set to Never during long cooks.
Phone sleeping kills the Joule app's WebSocket connection.
