E3

Tineco Vacuum Cleaner

Severity: Moderate

What Does This Error Mean?

E3 means the brush roller has stopped spinning due to a blockage or excessive resistance. Switch off, remove the brush roller, clear all debris and hair, and reinstall before restarting.

Affected Models

  • Tineco FLOOR ONE S5
  • Tineco FLOOR ONE S7
  • Tineco FLOOR ONE S7 Pro
  • Tineco PURE ONE S11
  • Tineco PURE ONE S15

Common Causes

  • Hair, string, or fibres wrapped tightly around the brush roller
  • Large debris jammed between the roller and the brush cover
  • Brush roller bearing worn or seized
  • Brush roller reinstalled incorrectly after the last cleaning

How to Fix It

  1. Switch off and unplug.

Always disconnect power before removing the brush roller.

  2. Open the brush roller cover.

On most Tineco FLOOR ONE models, the brush cover latches open with a tab or button at the front of the head. Lift the cover to expose the brush roller.

  3. Remove and clean the brush roller.

Lift the brush roller out of its channel. Use scissors to cut along its length to remove tightly wrapped hair. Clear all debris from the roller channel and both end caps.

  4. Check the roller end caps and bearings.

Spin each end of the roller by hand — it should turn freely. A stiff or grinding feel indicates a worn bearing. Tineco replacement brush rollers are available from Tineco directly.

  5. Reinstall correctly and restart.

Place the roller back in its channel, aligning the end caps with their slots, and close the brush cover firmly. E3 should clear on restart if the roller is clean and properly seated.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I clean the Tineco brush roller?

After every 2–3 uses, or after any session that involved significant pet hair or long human hair. Regular cleaning prevents E3 and extends the roller's service life.

Where can I buy a replacement Tineco brush roller?

Replacement brush rollers are available on Tineco's official website, Amazon, and from major vacuum retailers. Match the part to your specific model number (found on the label under the machine).
