Cd

LG Washing Machine

Severity: Minor

What it means

LG washer Cd is not a fault — it's LG's status code meaning 'Cool down cycle complete'.
The washer or WashTower has finished its post-wash cool-down phase and the load is ready to remove.
Open the door and unload normally.

Affected Models

  • LG Front Load Washer
  • LG Top Load Washer
  • LG WashTower (combined washer + dryer)
  • LG TurboWash Washer
  • LG TwinWash Washer

Common Causes

  • Cool down phase finished after a hot wash (normal — open and unload)
  • WashTower drying cycle ended with cool-down complete
  • Steam cycle finished with cool-down phase
  • Notification only — no fault
  • Sometimes appears after sanitize or allergiene cycles

How to Fix It

  1. Open the door.

The cool-down cycle has reduced the drum and load temperature to a safe level.
Open the door normally — Cd clears when the door is opened.

  2. Remove the laundry.

    Take out the clothes.
If they're still very damp from a wash cycle, run a Spin Only cycle to extract more water before drying.
For WashTower drying cycles, the clothes should be dry and warm — fold or hang as normal.

  3. Wipe the door seal (occasional).

After hot or sanitize cycles, the rubber seal may have condensation.
    Wipe with a dry cloth.
Leave the door slightly open for an hour to dry completely between washes — this prevents mould growth on the seal.
