What Does This Error Mean?

OE on an LG washer means the washer cannot drain within the expected time. Clean the drain pump filter at the bottom-front of the washer — coins, lint, or hair caught in the pump are the leading cause. Persistent OE points to a kinked drain hose or failed pump.

How to Fix It

Clean the drain pump filter.

On front-load LG washers, the filter is behind a small panel at the bottom-front. Open the panel, place a shallow tray underneath, and slowly unscrew the filter cap (water will pour out — be ready). Clear any debris from inside, rinse, refit, and tighten.
Check the drain hose.

Pull the washer out gently and inspect the drain hose. The hose should curve smoothly to the standpipe or sink connection. Kinks, sharp bends, or hoses pinched against the wall cause OE.
Confirm drain hose height.

The drain hose outlet should be 60–120 cm (24–48 inches) above the floor. Below this range, the washer cannot create enough siphon pressure to drain. Above, the pump struggles to push water up.
Test the drain by itself.

Press Power, select Drain or Spin only, and start. If the cycle completes, OE was a one-off. If OE returns, the drain pump is likely failing — book service.
