F10

Miele Washing Machine

Severity: Critical

What Does This Error Mean?

Miele washer F10 error means the machine cannot fill with water within the allowed time. Check that the water tap behind the machine is fully open and the inlet hose has no kinks.

Affected Models

  • Miele W Series Front Load Washer
  • Miele WDD Series Washer
  • Miele WCR Series Washer
  • Miele TwinDos Washer
  • Miele PowerWash Washer

Common Causes

  • Water tap not fully open or accidentally closed
  • Kinked or crushed inlet hose
  • Blocked mesh filter on the inlet valve connection
  • Low household water pressure
  • Faulty water inlet valve solenoid not opening
  • Miele Aquastop hose faulty — preventing water flow

How to Fix It

  1. Check the water tap.

Locate the cold water tap behind the machine. Turn it fully counter-clockwise to open completely. A tap that is only three-quarters open causes slow filling that eventually times out with F10.

  2. Inspect the inlet hose for kinks.

Pull the machine slightly away from the wall and inspect the Miele Aquastop inlet hose. Straighten any bends. Also check the hose has not been crushed against the wall or cabinet.

  3. Clean the inlet mesh filter.

Turn off the water tap. Carefully unscrew the Aquastop inlet hose from the inlet valve at the back of the machine. Inside the valve port there is a small mesh filter. Remove it gently, rinse under running water, and refit. Reconnect the hose securely.

  4. Check household water pressure.

Miele washers require a minimum water pressure of 0.5 bar. If other taps in the house have weak pressure, the supply pressure may be insufficient. Contact your water supplier if pressure is consistently low.

When to Call a Professional

If the tap is open, the hose is straight, and the inlet filter is clean but F10 persists, the inlet valve solenoid or the Miele Aquastop hose assembly has failed and needs replacement.
